Our mission began as we spent each and every day that our son was in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) by his bedside.
During our three hospital stays with Parker, we began to notice that not every child was as fortunate to have their parents with them, and not every parent was as fortunate to be by their child’s side while they were in the hospital. The reasons were all different, but after so many days by our son’s side, we felt that the parents and children benefited greatly from having a family advocate with them at all times.

About Us
The Parker H. Bainter Foundation was established to help support families with children in the hospital and offset the expenses associated with having a child in the hospital- from parking, dining in the cafeteria, time off from work or transportation to and from the hospital- it all adds up and many times it is not an expected or predicted expense and one that can quickly consume a family’s savings account.

Solving the Maternal Mortality Crisis in U.S. Healthcare
In the U.S.—where more women die in childbirth than any other wealthy nation—the joys of pregnancy and motherhood are often overshadowed by fear. Amid a growing maternal health crisis, especially for women of color, American Delivery is a documentary that tells the story of the glimmers of hope: women finding their voice and autonomy; nurses listening to women and offering birth choices; and hospital leaders welcoming the community as the patient.

Your support helps fund Play it Parker and provides critical assistance to families with children in the PICU by easing everyday burdens like meals, parking, transportation, and lost wages.
To know Zach is to know he is always up for a challenge. He has officially registered for his second triathlon, the Hermosa Beach Triathlon. It will take place on Parker’s third birthday which is August 11th, the day after Parkerpalooza. His goal is to raise $3,333 in honor of Parker.
